During the running of the Jim Clark Reivers Rally Special Stage 8, Eccles was stopped after a gas structure was hit by a competitors vehicle.
The event and public emergency procedures have been put in place. Some residents have been evacuated as a precaution in the village of Eccles, Scottish Borders. No persons were injured and repairs are underway.
